Chelmsford was one of the original centres St Mellitus College began teaching, alongside London. Our community in Chelmsford is a group of ordinands, lay ministers, and theology students who combine their part-time studies with a variety of work, family, and ministry commitments.
We gather each Thursday evening from 5pm to 9.15pm in the beautiful Chelmsford Cathedral to eat together, learn, worship, and pray. We grow in knowledge and love of Christ as we nurture our vocations in the awe-inspiring surroundings of the Cathedral, steeped in centuries of prayer and worship. Our local Chelmsford team of lecturers, tutors, and chaplains will help you navigate your journey of balancing theological study with ministry, work, and family life.
The Chelmsford centre is led by our director Revd Adeola Eleyae, who also leads All Saints Church, Goodmayes.
Centre Director
Adeola Eleyae is Director of St Mellitus College, Chelmsford. Ade is also Vicar of All Saints, Goodmayes and has previously served as the Bishop’s Equality Adviser in the Diocese of Chelmsford.
