“I am so privileged to lead, teach and share in the formation of students at St Mellitus. It amazes me how God is at work in the life of the college, and it’s a joy to be part of it.”
Revd Jitesh Patel is Assistant Director at St Mellitus College, East Midlands; he combines this role with being Associate Vicar at Holy Trinity Church Leicester in the Diocese of Leicester, where he has been since March 2018. Before being appointed at St Mellitus he was also the Director of Contextual Training in the Diocese of Leicester. He is the convener of the New Wine Preaching Conferences, and his doctoral research looks at the relationship between Postmodern Philosophy and the Charismatic Movement. Previously to moving to Leicester Jitesh served as a Vicar in the Diocese of Portsmouth and prior to that he served his first ordained post in the Diocese of Oxford. Outside of ministry and theology interests include international travel, running and beating his wife Bridget at board games (occasionally).
Research Projects
Jitesh’s research currently focusses on the philosophical basis of charismatic spirituality and worship, exploring historical, sociological, and anthropological aspects of its postmodern nature.
