Stephanie Day is one of the Academic Development Tutors at St Mellitus College. She has a D Phil in Medieval Studies, an AKC, and qualifications in tertiary teaching and teaching students with dyslexia. She taught English at York University, and then taught study skills at the University of Canterbury, New Zealand until 2015. At St Mellitus she advises students at all levels from new first years to thesis writers. She also works for Emmanuel College in the Northwest and St Hild College in Yorkshire and is a freelance editor and writing adviser. She is married to John, who is currently acting Archdeacon of York. She is particularly interested in ensuring that students are prepared to tackle their academic work. Her other interests include social history and gardening.
